Join us for as many workshops as you like! No need to pre-register, just show up ready to dance.
Daytime workshops are free and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure your spot. A few of our smallest studios may offer a limited number of guaranteed entry spots for a $2 donation. Even for these classes, the majority of the spots are available for free walk-ins. |An introduction to the dynamic, expressive and exquisite dance of Bali, Indonesia, taught by Sinta Penyami Hite of Modero Dance Company. Using accessible exercises, you will learn the fundamental movement vocabulary and basic techniques of male and female Balinese dance. Develop strength, grace and flexibility through this ancient art form that engages the body, focuses the mind and enlivens the spirit.

|Power Jam Stretch
|Elongate and strengthen your entire body with this invigorating combination of tai chi, yoga, Pilates and dance. Stretch and sweat at the same time. Bring a mat or towel. No need for shoes. Taught by Kathy Silvestri of Philly Dance Fitness.

|Imagine you’re on stage in this high-energy twist on contemporary jazz. Class begins with a warm-up followed by breakdowns of moves that you’ll string together in a non-stop cardio workout. Led by Kathy Silvestri of Philly Dance Fitness.

|House Party Fitness
|This cardio hip-hop program features the hottest urban music from hip-hop (old and new school), ragga, house, Top 40, R&B, electronic and reggaeton. In addition to cardio conditioning, House Party Fitness strengthens major muscle groups by incorporating resistance training of the arms, lower body and core. Taught by Sharice Sloan-El of Philly Dance Fitness.

|Expect lots of energy in this fusion of traditional North Indian folk dance and modern hip-hop. Taught by the members of Allarh Mast Jawani, the women's Bhangra team at Drexel University.

|Leave your inhibitions at home for this racy striptease aerobics class. Warm-up with isolations and follow-the-leader routines to get the heart pumping, then piece together a series of sexy moves to build a hotter-than-hot combination. Ages 18 and up. |Dance Party Boot Camp

|Stomp, shuffle and spin into shape in this tap fitness program. The steps are basic enough for any beginner, yet fast enough to challenge even those with tap experience. Tap shoes are not necessary, but wear them if you have them! With Pam Hetherington of Philly Dance Fitness.

|An invigorating, innovative combination of ballet and body conditioning designed to build strength, flexibility and grace. Don’t let the name intimidate you – absolutely no prior dance or ballet experience required. Fitness is the goal, ballet movements are the vehicle. |From box steps to jazz walks, showcase your style as you build a foundation of traditional jazz movements. This class is designed for adults who want to learn technique, but just for the fun of it. Led by Beverly Holskin of Major Moment Studio and Philly Dance Fitness. Shoes with a smooth surface for turning such as jazz shoes or dance sneakers are ideal, but socks work, too.

|Amp up your heart rate as you jam to all the latest hits in this fast-paced dance fitness program. No need to remember steps — just follow along with instructor Trina Lyons of Philly Dance Fitness.

|Get ready for kicks, jumps, spins and high energy torso movements in this dynamic blend of modern jazz with West African dance technique. Every muscle in your body will get a workout in this heart-pumping cardio class taught by Sherrilyn Billger of Philly Dance Fitness.

|A fun uptempo workout that blends bellydance moves from the Middle East and North Africa with uniquely American flair. Get a feisty, sensual whole body workout while strengthening your core in all dimensions. With Sherrilyn Billger of Philly Dance Fitness.

|Action Adventure Story Dance for Kids Ages 2-8
|This high-energy class will have kids leaping, scooting, swooshing, balancing and sneaking through the room. We'll read a story and act it out with games, dances, characters, imagination and lots of surprises. Led by ZoomDance.

|BODYJAM™ is a Les Mills cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. An addictive fusion of the latest dance styles and hottest new sounds puts the emphasis as much on having fun as on breaking a sweat. |Turn your feet into a percussion instrument while you learn intricate footwork in this hoofing style class. By the end, you'll have pieced a repertoire of steps into a basic choreography. Please bring tap shoes.

|Stretch and strengthen all the muscles in your body as you relax and de-stress in various postures and asanas, or poses. This can be your first, fifth or fiftieth yoga class; it will be structured for all levels. Bare feet are best. Bring a mat if you have one.

|Come strut your stuff as you learn the basics of jazz technique. The class will include turning, jumping, leaping and stretching. Shoes that allow for smooth turning are best, but socks work, too. Class will be taught at an adult level but children 10 and older may attend if accompanied by an adult. Absolutely no dance experience required.

|Let loose in this expressive class as you break the rules of ballet. Modern fuses many dance forms together and harmonizes the whole body in an engaging, freeing way. Bare feet are best. |National Dance Day Hip Hop Master Class* (first floor)
|Learn the official Hip Hop routine for National Dance Day. Open to all ages, however please note that the choreography may be a little more complex. Adults must accompany children under age 14. Team-taught by Maya Sethuraman, Trina Lyons and Diamond Edmonds.

|Argentine Tango (second floor)
|Learn to dance Argentine Tango! Sarah Chung and Damian Lobato teach a fun and intriguing introductory class. No partner or prior experience required.

|Salsa (first floor)
|If you love going out and dancing late, salsa is an essential. Learn the basic step, cross-body lead and more in this intro course. With Veronica and Andrew Hudacek.

|Social dance, performances and prizes (first floor)
|Practice what you've learned and watch a performance showcase featuring instructors and students from participating dance studios.
Note: For all of the above social dancing workshops, no need to bring a partner because you’ll rotate around to practice with everyone.
*Suitable for all ages. Dancers under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
