Join as many workshops as you like! No need to pre-register, just show up ready to dance. Workshops are FREE and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. They will be held indoors at the Philly Dance Fitness studio in Rittenhouse (1923 Chestnut St, 2nd floor). Please arrive a few minutes early to sign a waiver and get settled in.
Following the workshop lineup, the festival concludes with a capstone evening showcase at Plays & Players Theater on Delancey Street. $10 tickets cover the cost of the theater rental and include post-performance refreshments. | 3:30 – 4:15 pm | Intro to Lindy Hop with Jazz Attack | From triple steps to swing-outs, learn the fundamentals of this evolving social dance style that first appeared in the late 1920s. No prior experience or partner required – we’ll be switching partners throughout the workshop. |
| 4:15 – 5 pm | Latin FUNdamentals with Serge Ballroom Bliss | If you love going out and dancing late, don’t miss this introductory Latin workshop. Learn the basics of bachata & cha cha. Open to absolute beginners, no prior experience or partner required. |
| 5 – 5:45 pm | Salsa Combos with Serge Ballroom Bliss | Twirl, dip, and spin as you add some new combinations to your salsa repertoire. This workshop is geared toward dancers who have some prior knowledge of salsa basics, but no need to come with a partner. |
Location Details
Head all the way up the stairs, then through the doorway at the back of the second floor landing. Easily accessible from any bus that goes down Chestnut Street, as well as numerous other bus and subway lines. Paid street parking is available throughout the area but can be difficult to find. We strongly recommend biking, walking or taking public transportation to avoid the challenge of finding parking in the heart of Center City.
