Thank you to everyone who came out and partied with us on Philadelphia Dance Day this July! What an AMAZING day. Check out photos from the event here, and watch videos, including clips from a few of the evening performances. Many of the photos are courtesy of Sergio Rojstaczer.
All across the city, dancers packed the studios for salsa, jazz, African dance and more. Unfortunately, some of the workshops at Major Moment and Studio 1831 were so packed that we had to turn people away, which we hated to do. Luckily, we had just enough room at most of the other studios, and plenty of space for the upwards of 70 dancers who joined us for Hip-Hop, Cardio Pop and Sh’Bam at the Y. Just under 200 people attended the evening events at the Ethical Society.
Altogether, we estimate that roughly 450 people came out to celebrate National Dance Day at our Philadelphia event. Workshop attendance reached a record 760!
We also had a record 4,757 unique visitors to the Philadelphia Dance Day website, which will stay up throughout the year so you can go back to see pictures. Come next spring, we’ll post the schedule for next year’s Dance Day, which will be held on July 26, 2014.
